Another From the Archives

This is what can happen when you work fast, full of anger and frustration. Where are my pastels? To the art making machine!

Makita, you want this?

In Process

Here's my cordless screwdriver/drill project. So far, so good. Foam model came out great, parting lines were tough to carve by hand! I'm currently layering thin coats of PSP (bondo) and plan to start painting on Thursday.

From the Archives

My old kitchen. I'm heading back home and starting thinking about my old apartment. Things were so simple then. I didn't think twice about soldering or cutting glass in the living room, had a darkroom (with no ventilation) in the spare bedroom, and a refrigerator that I painted purple and my cat wasn't dead.

I forgot about conte crayon. I think I still have some and will need to dig it out of the Art Bin.

Self Portraits

And a few self portraits. The first is from way back when I was in black and white and a little grainy :) Yes, that's a joke. The second is a painting I did in gouache (I would describe it as a chalky watercolor paint) on bristol board. I'm now noticing that I have not done a self portrait since I got my magic eyes and no longer need glasses. I will add that to my list of things to do in 2011.

Old Stuff

These images were from an old folder called "misc artsy photos". Interesting...

Beauty

More from the Ari photography archives. I guess I should mention that these were taken by my 3 year old daughter. Beautiful!

Ok, One More

From my Materials & Processes Class
Two projects reverse-engineered, materials and parts identified and product layouts created.

Photoshop Catch Up, Old Stuff

This was work from my Digital Imaging class. Includes Photoshop, Illustrator and Painter and making use of a drawing tablet.
Cell phone image was all hand rendered (drawn and shaded) using Photoshop to look like the actual image.
Teapot and Lamp were hand-drawn using a tablet in Painter.
Last image is an import of a drafting (previous work) that has been shaded using Illustrator. Fun stuff!

Where I left off, I think

This is the work I did in the class that I FAILED last Spring

New Period

I think I'm starting down the road leading to a new period. Soft blocks! I can't get enough. I'm obsessed. I bought them for my daughter but I can't stop playing with them. Unfortunately the first trick I showed her was how to knock down the blocks. Now I find myself racing to build before she can knock it down. It's a frantic art! Much like my creepy crawler phase, I will wear it out in due time. In the meantime, a forum for my creations.

I'm an Industrial Design Student

I just finished my latest class. Here is my penguin. It's made of Fiberglas. It's a child's pull toy. I'm pretty happy with it but definitely could have spent a lot more time on it. Priorities...
